Fabric Pots

Does anyone use lg fabric pots. Some of my figs will need to step up to 20 gal pots in the spring and I am looking for a low cost pot.  Seems like they might be a bit awkward to use but I might try a couple.

Thanks

I have used them for other things (not figs), and I loved them although they dry out very quickly. I use Root Pouches from greenhouse megastore. They were the most cost effective brand I could find.

Thanks to a member of this forum who mentioned it, I recently bought some 25g pots item  (HC25) . They come in a bundle of 10. I received them and they are sturdy. You might get $10 off your first order. About two weeks ago they had free shipping.

I used a 25gal fabric pot for my banana plant, but I really don't care for it much because of how hard it is to move the plant around now. I actually just bought a regular 25gal pot to place it into bc every time I try to move it the rootball seems to get stressed due to the lack of support. It does dry out very quickly and I can't bottom water it sooo "Hello Fungus gnats!" as soon as it came in for the winter.. That shouldn't be a problem for your fig tree though since it will be outside or in a garage for winter..Maybe it was just the brand I bought, or maybe I just have bad luck lol, bc it seems other people like them and they are usually pretty reasonably priced.

Thanks!  The molded pots look perfect.

Before you make your final decision on which pots to buy...

I use 10, 15, and 20 gallon fabric pots.  I was able to get them for somewhat cheaper than what you show in your first link.  I have all potted my trees on an automatic drip watering system, which is 100% required if you are going to grow in pots in my area.  I like them and they do greatly reduce the root circling problem you encounter when growing figs in pots.

They are a little harder to move but if you get one with very strong handles it's still doable.

When I move up to 30 or 40 gallon pots (which I should do soon for my best trees), I will probably stick with the fabric.  Root pruning is a whole lot of labor for such a large pot, and I think I will be able to get away with much less root pruning with a fabric pot.

Was hoping to move to a warmer climate before I got to this point, but doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon...

This one is slightly cheaper than what you put and it has handles (which believe me you will want):
