Favorite breba???

Seeing posts about the excitement of brebas starting to show up, has me wondering which varieties bless you with your favorite breba crop over the years???

Over the last 3 years, it was my Granthams Royal. But last season was Bellone. Excellent tasting. Unfortunately this variant is not known for its brebas

Cool paully and what zone are you in?

Good topic, Jodi! I have a few brebas coming from gifted trees thanks to a very generous member (thanks, Greenfig!) but I can't give any detail about taste. I will post an update when they ripen.

Sicilian Black JR knocked my socks off this summer with the quality and huge number of brebas.

This is great I hadn't heard of this variety. Where did it come from to you?

Zone 6/7 -- Pacific North West, British Columbia, Canada

I've currently got Alma, Nero600, and LSU purple sporting brebas.  The LSU purple drops them every year though.  The others...we'll find out.  Couldn't comment on taste...they're all 2nd year plants.  I've been debating if it would be smarter for me to pull them off and go for main crop instead.

@Lampo - in your country is Lampeira Preto also commonly known just as Lampeira ?? A local here in Canada told
me it is. I have some doubts.

Yes, many names are called to this SanPedro variety..
Lampeira Preta - Lampa Preta - Lampeira - Figo de São João - Castanhal - Figo Lampo - Lampa - etc..
There are also a number of strains of this cultivar.. and this makes people on certain regions to (wrongly)  call it . Sofeno Claro, Sofeno Escuro..
One particular farmer  from the Eastern border claims that his Lampeira produces a special fruit, different from all other, the big difference being the main crop , to give bigger figs with a marked flavor and much crunchy. This fellow gave me a 10lb bag of these figs (dried and roasted) and they are super delicious!
He calls his Lampeira, TV3 strain to differentiate from his other Lampeiras.
