Vito

E tu Vito!! Buona Festa!! Grazie, ciao!

I remember growing up in the Bronx St. Anthony's was a huge feast day with carnivals etc...

Have a great St. Anthony!

Yes, its a big occassion Mautzi! Have a good one too! ciao!

Have a great day Maggie !!

Thanks Pattee, I will gain 10 pounds from food and wine! Thats okay!

Now we know why we have a fig called St. Anthony, is it because the brebas of st. anthony ripen on that day?

Grazie tango... Anche a te fa una buona festa

Very good question Bass, I know in some places figs are ripening now, wonder if it is named this because of the ripening time which is very possible or maybe it came from the home of St. Anthony? I briefly had St. Anthony but it was not strong for me and died. I do not have any experience to say for sure, it would never ripen here on 13 June, in our weather if that was case, Other places maybe??

Maggie,
enjoy the feast day and good luck with the weather.

Mautzi,
I remember as a kid going to the street festival in the Bronx, just a bunch of kids- no adult supervision, and eating zeppolis.
I think (quite a long time ago), it was the Feast of San Gennaro (Bronx not Little Italy).
Good memories of different times!

Maggie enjoy !
I can hear the snoring of some afterwards !
