Great article, thanks for sharing it. My family origins are from the Puglia area just south of Bari. it was great seeing all the photos of the different varieties grown in the region.

Mike, thanks for even considering me to be the author, but no. Dan {The_celt}, set me on a journey towards locating an elusive fig I thought might well be mythological and this is one of many articles I've run across. (not rigata, btw)
Dan, here's a picture I found of rigata de salento. It must be the same or similar to Panachee.
Frank It is another stripped fig there are quite a few out there. Pinache is bajornosotte family having stipped wood most of the others do not have that.
