Ficus Carica "Ice Crystal"

Does anyone know this fig variety? It looks gorgeous but how are its figs for eating?

I saw a fig plant picture somewhare online called "ice crystal" kind of looked similar to F. Afgan....  but there was no description of the fruit.
Can't recall where i saw that picture.

look like ficus afghanistanica to me.

Akram,
thats looks just like the leaf i saw on another site.

Thanks everyone. Hopefully I can get it.

This is certainly a nice looking leaf. Resembles F. Afghanistanica, but it said to bear a good small black figs.

here's my young plant.

Looks like F. afghanistanica. It says it is seed grown, which would not be a viable way to reproduce a F. carica that was true to parent.

Jon, its definitely very close to Afghanistanica but the UK nurseries describe that it does produce figs in the UK. I guess I'll have to wait and see for myself.

I am still bothered by the fact that it is seed propagated.

I think the "seed grown" is just an awkward wording. The phrase, "All fruit trees certified virus free with a FREE FRUIT TREE WARRANTY. Most are UK seeds/grown .... " appears at the beginning of all their fruit tree descriptions and so is not specifically pertaining to the fig in question.
"UK" means United Kingdom, not 'unknown'. so they are saying most of thier stuff is grown in United Kingdom( Britain) and not imported. I am just guessing, assuming, that as an ongoing nursery bussiness they, owners/workers, would know how to propogate figs or other stuff appropriately. but maybe not.... tyty
