Just curious....From the Ficus Carica list of fig.......how many trees (not cuttings) on that list do you have?List is here: http://www.ficuscarica.com/carica.html
very little. less than i can count on my one hand :)
Jon probably has them all!
8 (I think). If my translation skills are working today.
One, just one. I had a couple others but fungus gnats got em. Suzi
Not enough! Seven, I think.
how many do you have dennis?
now THAT would be a Fig Paradise... I can just imagine myself walking through those trees and just not knowing which one to eat first.I am growing few...I wish I had the english version of those names. (not just google translated)
ah.. got 2!
I'm sure there are folks that have more than me. But notice the question was "How many do you have?" The question wasn't "What do you have?"How many do I have? .......27
nada, zip, zilch, zero, nothing, didly squat, the big "O", nil, nowt, naught, nought, not anything.
I have about 25 different trees growing and after comparing and tabulating against the list above, my total number of matches is......... 0.
If 1 year old is a tree, than 3. But I really have no idea since the names are not in English
Not Sure also with it not being in English, would make a guess of 5 to 10. They are really good looking figs on that site.
I confirm that I have two of those listed. But I guess it really depends on how many of those actually go by a different name by which they may commonly be called here in the US.
Not enough!!! If the cold temps did not kill them maybe 14.
So Grasa, you're suggesting a fig party at Dennis' house this summer? Man! That sure is nice of you Dennis! Oh wait, maybe we should ask Dennis first ;-)...
Hi Snaglplus,Do you understand italian ?It states that they would try to list the existing Italian cultivars for transmitting the information to the following generations should some of those cultivars get lost in time. The page was created in June 2010 ... And no update since.I just wonder why they made that site at least like that. Making one poor resolution photo of so much different figs, having the trees at hand, and not documenting those precisely ... incredible !Most of the pages are waiting to be filled in ...So to get back to your question 1 out of the 180 cultivars listed .I was surprised, I couldn't find 4 of my known strains - nor a stripped strain.By the way try a copy/paste to notepad of the zone in between the last photo and the sentence "Last updated" - The 4 strains are listed in there.
Too many!
I have 14! but I see some I'm going to have to hunt for...and I thought I was done collectings figs...dang it.I translated the page in google translate...helped a little with the names but a couple did not translate well. One name translated to Slut (Porca). OMG!
I think I have 8
Come on George! Quit holding out! Grasa, Bill, if you ever come the Charlotte, give me a call, you're welcome to tour the orchards and sample my figs.
Well, they have only two from my collection!!
Maybe 10-11
