Fig Appetizers

Yesterday I took some clients out for a business dinner at a my favorite Northern Italian restaurant that is highly rated by Zagats. We had a fig appetizer that was exquisite. They made it with fresh "California Figs" (I'm assuming Mission) baked with gorgonzola cheese and topped with prosciutto. They were glazed with a sweet port wine and served with garnishes of fresh mulberries, lavender and greens. The only down side was the portion was only 2 figs :( but what a great treat.

now that sounds really really good!

Sounds yummy! I've made a similar taste treat with goat cheese.

If the weather around here ever clears up and gets warm, maybe I'll have some figs this season to try making this at home (with a bigger portion).

Steve more rain today for us, BUT we are going into a spell of 80 degree weather for the next week in the long term forcast and im making arrangements to send it to you good folks back east and north!

Drowning rains going on right now, good tomorrow but more on Saturday. After that, it looks like it will be good for a while.
