Fig Bundle # 2

Good Evening:

Again, It’s that time of year again where I need to trim the trees and send out cuttings for beginners wanting to build a unique collection.

Here is the list that I will send out this week.  I started this late last week.   Still trying to move the last 5 bundles.

Bebera Branca (spelling error on tag)
Columbaro Nero
De La Tira
I376
D'en Roig Manyo
Violette De Bordeaux
Greek Church

I'm asking $30 plus $7.50 for shipping and handling (this is a lot of work ;). Private message me if interested for Paypal info.  When they are spoken for, I will post it as so.

Please include your shipping address in the private message.  You must be in the continental US.

When possible I try to supply 2 cuttings although I can’t guarantee that on each variety.  Each cutting should have at least three nodes.

I make no claims that my figs are FMV free.  I haven't had one yet (except my Maltese Beauty) that doesn't show signs of it in some way shape or form.

Upon receipt I recommend re-cleaning the cuttings and separating the varieties into their own bag with moist moss.

Thanks for your contribution and good luck rooting these.  It’s a good assortment that should give you a lot of pleasure growing and tasting.

I’m including 1 extra variety.  It will be a surprise.  I'll Combine shipping with Bundle 2 & 3.  I've just barely been able to squeeze them into 1 shipping bag.

Thanks.   Dan

Hi,
Another typo : "Violette De Bourdeaux" is "Violette De Bordeaux" - you've got an extra u .

Dan excellent offers, very nice! If I didn't have so many I would take you up on the offer(s).  I noticed this fall that many figs late in the year actually tasted exceptional.  It seems I could let them hang forever without bugs or rot, so they ripened up really well.  It's strange how well figs work in out area. I had fresh figs yesterday, the last of them, but almost December and I'm eating fresh figs in Michigan? Who would have thought that possible!

My spelling really is terrible. It should be Des Roig Manyo. Not D'en Roig Manyo. I apologize. And thanks to the member for pointing it out.

Got my bundle #2 cuttings today, such amazing quality and selection !

Thank you Dan.

Yea, I was about to PM you about that, then I thought it must be another variety. Glad you figured out.

Good work Dan

All spoken for. Thanks!

PM sent

Just decided to use disposable aluminum pans. Will put a layer of potting soil, lay the cuttings on it, and then lightly cover with more potting soil. Thanks again for the great cuttings!

Anyone have an idea where I can find info on the Des Roig Manya that is in enlish?

OK. I may have jumped in to the deep end here. I can't seem to find growing info on a lot of these fig varieties. Guess that's what happens when you are new, and jump in with both feet ;) Mainly need to know the temps they can survive. So I can tell if I need to put them in garage or even warmer area.

They're probably zone 7 I would guess, if not there would be posts about them in ground. The info is scarce on some because they are rare ;)

LanderFig, first of all welcome to forum. I see you're in zone 5a , you will need winter protection for.any fig. You should start your own post ,describe your location, your concerns and be patient, none of us have all the answers but you'll find must people here are willing to help

Agree with Mario and Devlsgro

In my opinion, if you're in zone 5/6, All figs are pretty similar in hardiness. In zone 5 you're going to need to bring them in or protect them somehow. I'm in zone 6 and do this also. I don't chance losing my plants to the cold.

Des Roig Manyo is a Spanish variety from Monserrat Pons. His book has recently been translated to English. Look for it soon on Amazon

Ooh really? I can read French but Spanish isn't happening for me. I can't wait to see his book, it's going to get me killed lol

This is how I do it.

Very organized storage solution. If I am successful with the cuttings I bought from you and others...one day my garage may look like this.

Where do you find your square pots? I have been hunting them in larger sizes all year.

Only half of mine are in 3 gallon + so it's not too bad yet, man I need those square pots.
