Well, I now have 24 cuttings in pans. Not sure what the heck I'll do with them if they all take. I'm always doing crazy stuff like that. I only have so much room in my garage. That set up in your garage is great!
So what is the lowest temperature I can store my trees for the winter? I'm thinking I can lay them down in my crawl space. Obviously it stays above freezing.
As far as I know 32-40 degrees F is optimal, but most can survive down to 20 degrees F.
In January and February it's not uncommon for my garage to get down to 22 F when it's below 0 degrees outside. I've gone out to check on them and the root ball is frozen. It stays frozen for 4-6 weeks. Never lost a plant in the garage. I've lost more figs stored in the basement because I forgot to water them.
Well noted.Thanks, Mike
