Fig Cakes with Orange Blossom Water

Looking around for a use for some orange blossom water I found this Fig Cakes with Orange Blossom Water. Sounded good, now I just have to wait for something to ripen.

Good find Jon,

Ever use Rose water?
You'll find in Mideastern food stores. We use it for cakes and pastries among other things.

Will look more into your find later.

Thanks

Haven't tried the rose water though it does sound interesting.  I think I have seen a recipe somewhere for candy made with it.

Jon,

Don't know where you live but if you or someone you know lives near a Mideastern community that's where you will most likely find it.

The glass bottle is sort of flat and no bigger than an alcohol bottle and the liquid is clear like water. The label has a Red Rose on it.

Good luck

Our family uses Rose water in making cakes and deserts. Also it is used in preparation of rice and lamb. As Rafad said, you can find it in most of the Middle Eastern and some of the Greek stores.

We have a Mideastern store a couple miles away.  I'm in La Mesa, CA just a few miles away from Encanto Farms.  Didn't really have room for the four types of figs I got from Jon but living so close I couldn't help it.

Adding that one to my recipe base Jon.

Thanks,Sara

Sara & Jon,

When preparing any dishes using RW you don't have to add lots of it, as it will change the flavor of whatever that you are preparing. If you have a recipe that tells you how much of RW to be added, follow that, otherwise, two or three Tbs is usually enough.
Also, Whole foods do carry it sometimes.

Sharkb8,
That looks too good to be true. Adding that to my recipe base as well. Thanks for sharing.
