Fig cultivator from Central Europe.

Hi, I would like collect here cultivator from Central Europe (USDA 6-7). This would help us in the exchange of experience, in our climate. So If u can, write here your short ID. ;)

Lesser Poland, Poland USDA (6a/b)

Peretta, Panache, and probably Brown Turkey. ;) I have some cuttings of other varieties, so when they will be tree I will update. ;)

Maris, let me make sure I understand.  You are looking for fig varieties that do well in USDA zones 6-7 (or equivalent climates), correct?  If so, I imagine fig growers here will want to know what the importation laws of Poland are to know whether this would be feasible.  Not very many of us have the proper paperwork and approvals to bring in plant material from abroad so that would eliminate the possibility of trading unfortunately.  Good luck in your quest.

I just want that people from central Europe wrote a reply in this topic. So that you can reach them easily found. And for example. Exchange experiences in trimming or overwintering plants. A large part of the US which is in the zone 6 or 7 has a more continental climate than our in Europe, so I'm looking here for such people from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, etc.

Law in Poland permits to import for personal use from EU without any permission.

Maris,
I have seen people from Bulgaria here, if that will do for you.
In general, you can search the people database by the location. I am sure after a few tries you will find people from EU

Christian here,

Northern Germany,costal area,USDA zone 7b.

Maris,
you could make the topic's meaning clearer to our native english speaking friends
by changing the title into "Fig growers from Central Europe"

Now i understand. Exchange of thoughts and experience. If that so. You found, the right place.

Hi Maris,
yes, there are quite many fig growers here in central Europe but only a few of them are active over the internet. If you're looking for a great source of plants suitable for our colder conditions check the Mercato Verde website. Or you can exchange the cuttings with other growers of course.
