Fig Desert

Eli got me thinking back to some other desert done with figs.

Prepare a Crème anglaise sauce and set aside at room temp.
Take you favorite red wine (2 cups), juice of 1 sweet orange, 1 tsp orange zest, 1/4 cup turbinado sugar and reduce liquid by half on med-low heat. Onced reduced keep on low heat.
Place in a 350 F oven several figs and pears that have been sliced in half.
Roast the fruit till golden brown.
Cover the bottom of serving dish with Crème anglaise.
Slice thin the roasted pears thin and arrange in a circular manor around the serving dish.
Do the same with the roasted figs but make sure to keep the fig circle smaller and in the center.
Drizzle Reduced red wine sauce in a zig-zag pattern over the fruit.

Serve and enjoy!

Slainte!

Thank you, Chris!

I thought this thread was going to be about figs in a dry environment, not served as a confection. ;)

Sounds yummy.
