Fig find at estate sale

Wandering around the outside stuff at a local estate sale, there were three fig trees.  I didn't pay much attention because almost always they are either Celeste or Brown Turkey but the one tree caught my eye because it still had a good flourish of leaves and as I looked closer there were ripe figs on the tree, imagine my surprise, LSU Hollier, I ate the four figs rather quickly but I did manage to save one for pictures which I will post later. I got an arm full of cuttings and two sports with good roots.

BTW, bought a good rear tine tiller, a good vintage ATLAS bandsaw, a good vintage ATLAS belt sander with ten inch disk, a 4x7 utility trailer all for $140, good buy, good find on the fig.

Congratulations, very cool find!

Sounds like a good score all around- well done!  I've done some impulse buying at estate sales, some deals too good to pass on.    And from what I hear, Hollier is a fig worth having, one of the best from the LSU breeding program.

Rear tine tillers are really great. I have an Yard Machine (Troy Bilt) with reverse I bought on line on their web site and they delivered it free to my driveway.

The Hollier is one of the best as long as you let it ripen until the sugar spots appear, ugly but good.

Man, what a find, Danny.  Good luck with the cuttings.  Whenever I go to sell my house, I can only hope my 9 ground trees will help with the sale.  It's all about who is looking, though.

Oh, Yay!
