Fig fruit/leaf/branch alignment

As we look at a cutting we see three markings.
The bottom void round mark is where the last year's leaf was, then on top it, there are two bumps. One is the fruit and the other one the future branch.  I notice they alternate positions. Sometimes the fruit comes out from Right and sometimes from Left and the other and sometimes the same variety alternates sides.
Is there a correlation with certain varieties which side will be what?
I was wandering if this can be used help ID variety in form of narration to lesser by grouping  the trough habit of the fruit V'S branch.

Has any one noticed and taken notes about this behavioral subject?
I am really interested to see if there is a pattern to the alignment.

Is it possible that;

-Some varieties do Right side fruit.
-Some varieties do Left side fruit.
-Some varieties alternate sides of fruit.

If so..., which one does what?

been looking at this for some time.. like for last 5 yrs. but it was mostly on Kathleen's Black. first 3 yrs, i was waiting for the fig and try to figure out which one will turn out to be the fig.. i didn't notice any consistency. comparing this to other two trees i purchased at the same time, there is no consistency on the others either.

inconsistency sometimes could be due to Alternating habit... lets look into this deeply.

On the strains I own I don't see consistency .
My bt on one node sprouted 2 figs ...
My Dalmatie tree1 on 3 stems ... showed no figs ... Go figure why ! It had 4 stems all 4 at 2 meters of height ...
Of course it would branch this year , hopefully, but I found that behavior weird as fig trees would normally show figs as they grow.
I have already noticed that my "unknown from the italian" tends to alternate figs one right one left
One of my trees made new branching in the 4 directions on 4 successive nodes - one branch per node .
On one tree the figs appeared towards the sky ... Those branches were laterals .
My dalmatie tree2 -1 year old and 2 stems of 2 meters of height - showed no figlets .
Perhaps some other strains are more constant ...

not sure if i really want an anal retentive fig tree that will keep its figs on a raw or exact alternating position. well, i'll still get the figs, if it's good :)

I once went up to one of my trees and asked it.. "How's it hangin'?"...   no response..

james, your tree is one of those silent type. last time i went up a tree and asked how's it hanging, she said come over and find out. ah.. that was long time ago and after a night of heavy drinking. no, she didn't have wooden legs.

I think it's more like the "Silent Treatment" after letting them get too cold in the green house.
