Fig grafting?

Just a question about grafting involving nails if I was to graft a branch and nail it on would I need to remove the nail later on or would I just leave it? I'm afraid if I leave it the nail is going to cause problems.

Sorry, I've only grafted avocados and no nails were used. I wouldn't think it would hurt however, I've seen plenty of trees with nails in and they didn't appear damaged. They were mostly nails from tree houses.

Those grafts involve heavier limb/scion combinations  and those iron nails are the simplest and best method to warrant firm and durable cambium contact. They MUST stay on. No problem! The tree will haply  take and eventually assimilate part of it as a nutrient
