People worry about what soil to use and how to take care of their figs, but this tree is growing out of rock. Figs definitely like rocky soil.

This is common sight in Many Mediterranean countries,,areas,, they even grow out sides of buildings in parts of Italy and walls. I never fuss and tell people all the time there is no "Potion" to soil , Just get well draining soil if keep in pots that gets drier and you will be fine.I usually like them to be a little stressed because it makes the best fruits..Figs like to be a little stressed out, they bounce right back again overnight. Enough said.

Yes Pattee!! HA,, you are correct! in my family and circle,, chaos all time! Good chaos though, It only lasts a few moments and stressed out only for a short moment, then get some wine and you are Okay! I do enjoy my quiet moments more now. BTW I meant enough said from me! I tend to get long winded when I type and talk. American boy you would not be the only one! Walk by,, snatch! as long was not on ones private property where you may get into deep troubles!

Fig trees that grow out of walls look pretty but are most likelly there as a result of birds pooping fig seeds everywhere. Cuttings would most likely produce sterile plants. Sorry. Been there, done that.
