My wife has family in the South of France (Provence).  She told me about the island Porquerolles, near Marseille, that has an orchard with over 100 varieties of Fig trees.  I hope to go there in the next year or two.

Here's a picture of a fig tree growing out of a Palm tree trunk.  Figs will survive!

Cool picture.  It's amazing how fig trees will survive almost anywhere except in my backyard...lol.  Y'all keep your fingers crossed that my newly transplanted LSU Tiger survives the 100+ days for the next 2 weeks.
