Fig hunting....and reading....

Hi folks,
i have been reading all the old posts on this site....lots of wonderful advice and information. i'm a novice figger but a longtime gardener(20+ years) and have a few nice trees(potted) that are beginning to produce. i'm looking for someone that may have cuttings of a Sal's and/or Ronde de Bordeaux. i would trade for them but my trees are "unknowns" except for my Hardy Chicago so any cuttings could be something that you'd already have. so i will say purchase would be better...and i'm up north of the border hear in Canada so i'll direct this more at figgers up here unless someone would take a chance mailing cross border. i have a few more hours(or more) of reading till i'm done all the posts on here...then my questions wil start....hehe.

till later,
Matti
(novice figger)

Hi Matti.  I'm only about a year or so ahead of you in this process (long-term gardener/orcharder; new to figs), and in the Southern U.S., so while I probably don't have anything that would help you, I did want to say: 1) You have come to the right place, the people here are real experts; 2) I wish you great success; and 3) I'm certain you will have fun and find growing figs very rewarding.

Welcome and best wishes.

Remind me in fall or spring for Sal (EL) cuttings. This year Sal (EL) beat Marseilles VS Black for the first ripe fig.

Hi Matti,
I am in a simlar situation as you, being new to growing figs.
i don't have any of the varieties you are looking for, but am willing to trade/share cuttings,or better yet since you are so close, air layers, from what I have, when they are available,  Grimos: Natlina, Bifara,  Latarulla not from grimo but original plant was from him,  ,,,as well as Desert King and 3 unknowns from Rico.
I am also looking for dark figs.,
