Fig ID

New Forum Member. Have located fig tree in Northern Neck of Va. that I plan on propagating. Need help in narrowing down what it is. It is currently producing very heavily. Is about 40 years old. Great tasting figs and exceptionally large. Leaf photo to follow.

Benny: Welcome to the Fig Forum. Your figs are more like Brunswick to me and to confirm if this tree is Brunswick, please take photos of fresh leaves, thanks for sharing.

Best,
Tam

That's what I had come up with also. Sorry about the dried leaves. Had good photos on phone and lost them. thanx.  b

Does not look like my Brunswicks, I have several, your fig is too dark, could be differences in locations/environments.  The leaf is close but my Brunswick figs seem to be a lot more yellowish, especially at the top.

I would have guessed Brunswick.

4bgood,
Welcome to the Forum Community.
IMO, It resembles a Brunswick or Magnolia there are many cultivars in circulation, cultural practice creates many different skin colors and eye (ostiole) sizes. Yours look to have a smaller eye, which is a good thing : )
Good Luck.
