Fig ID

I've just began with expanding my variety of figs. I'm in western pa and found a great fig grower who has really helped me out. For years I've just had the figs given to me from my wife's family. My father-in-law got them from his family but we really don't know what exact type it is. Can anyone tell us from the pic attached. We assume it's either a Brown Turkey, Celeste or something similar. The fruit is on the smaller/medium side. It's a dark fig, mostly purple with a reddish inside. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..Tony

Hey Tony, How does this look to you?

I think that one is what you would call a Southern Brown Turkey. They are extremely delicate when fully ripe and have a very strong flavor, more flavor than Celeste which is sweeter. The eye also turns red before the rest of the fig which Celeste does not do.

Here is my Celeste: Looks similar,

Thanks. After looking at pics I don't think it's a Celeste. The Celeste looks too yellow on top and too red inside. But the the pics of your southern brown turkey looks about right. I'll have to wait until I have a ripe fruit and compare photos. Thanks again.
