Fig ID help, Celeste

It was supposed to be a BT, but clearly isn't. Yes, it a a really good fig, whatever it is. The MD was to distinguish it from the other BTs I had. I have renamed it Maryland Berry. Will get the website changed one day...

The little blue fig  that I posted the picture of last week has produced different colored fruit this time the fourth, fifth and sixth figs are larger and are more brown/purple in color than the first figs were. They show cracking and a red eye. The Willis representative says that this is an Italian everbearing. I will post pictures before I eat tonight's crop :) Each fig tastes better than the first  but the label said Desert King and this is definitely not that.

The weather has turned cooler here in NY and my latest figs are brown. Is it normal for such a varied color change in one season? The tree looks healthy and the fruit are delicious but then I have never eaten fresh figs before so I have no way to judge taste.

Jon,
Thanks for posting the picture of the Celeste. Mine is exactly like
those.  They are delicious and very productive.  I had two celeste trees
but didn't know the name. I ordered a Celeste cutting from UCD two years ago. When its figs ripened this year I was able to indentify the two I already had. The lavender color and size is so destinctive and they taste so good. I've been eating them like candy.

The only problem has been our weather. It has been so hot and dry that the lawns have dried up and the stately maple trees are shedding dry leaves in August. Two days ago the Celeste figs started drying on the trees. I had to pick them all. Too many to eat so I made jam to enjoy this winter.

I'm glad you post these pictures. I have VdeB DFC 063 from UCD that is a very good tasting purple fig with no red and nothing like the pictures of the EL strain. I was able to check your posted photos. I was begining to question my sanity.

What about this tree?  Possibly a Celeste, or something else?

The figs here are obviously not ripe yet, but at least appear to have closed eyes.  And I vaguely recall that they blush slightly purplish when ripe...(or maybe not)?  I also think the insides were reddish when ripe - but again could easily be mistaken?

Admittedly not too much to go by here, but maybe somebody still has a clue?
