Hi all, a friend brought these over today. Just wondering if the fig guru's can ID this fig.. I don't have a picture of the leaf pattern but it is similar to an RDB with its 5 long finger leaves....thanks
Hi! John,Your figs are look like my unknown figs. The figs were sweet, little jammy, crunchy with figgy flavor. I hope other fig gurus can let us know what is it.Best,Tam
Whatever it is it looks good. I'm a sucker for finger like leaves.
Hi Tam, they look similar but the leaf pattern on my friends look's more like an RDB....supposedly the original cutting from the mother tree came from Italy back in the eighties....thanks john
Thanks, John. Best,Tam
Deerhunter,Looks like a Brunswick to me. These are pics from the variety page.
Tam, Your fig tree may be a Black Spanish. http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Black_Spanish.htmlYour fruit might not be fully ripened or the location of your tree might not be getting enough sun to ripen the fig to a darker skin tone.
Thanks Barry, I will check on Black Spanish figs later. Best,Tam
CalvinI was thinking more of a Paradiso or tarantalla fig....
If you really want a better chance of an ID you'll have to get your friend to send you some pics of the leaves. Just too many possibilities.
yep will try to get a picture of the leavesthanks
