When fully ripe this fig will have a green reddish skin with few purple stripes. Unfortunately the tree was exposed to a lot of rain, hence the split I believe. But the fig tasted good, Very productive and suitable for colder climates. When I bought it I thought it was a black or dark purple fig. I spoke to the nursery where I bought it from and they confirmed that it's the right variety as the owner himself is a fig enthusiast and got it from Israel . He also said that the fig in the picture is not fully ripe and it splitted due to the heavy rain and since it splitted flys and hornets started to get into it. I have protected the rest so will see if they live up to the expectations.
