Luke,

My mom makes something similar to this with dates.

My wife's mother sent us a Christmas Cooke assortment that included some of these and I have enjoyed them very much.

Darn it, now I'll have to try with dates. This was my first try at making these and they turned out great. The recipe comes from monasterace, italy. I did put a twist on it, always have to put your own touch to it.

Luke im curious what type of figs were used for those ?

Sorry Luke.

BTW, I was stuffing my face with them and some with walnut stuffed while I typed.

Rubbing it in, our we. Watch out, you'll get your keyboard filled with cookie crumbs.

Martin, Not quite sure.  Only can tell you they were dried ones. Finally learned what to do with them dried out figs. It's magically delish. I know next year, I'll dry some figs for cookies and stuffing them with walnut's, pecans and chestnuts. Will add they were white figs (I know, only dark ) but being dried they become very figgy tasting. Would like to try different figs, for different flavors. I bet VDB, RDB,NEGR all having better flavor could be worth a try. This is only if they produce plenty for fresh eating.
