Also known as UCR 143-36, this is one of the larger figs available. The skin is often a nice bluish green, but can vary to a greenish yellow, as well. Flesh can vary from a lighter pink to red.

Ring is one inch at the widest point, regardless of the shape. That is the beauty of the circle. Pix taken at any angle still show the true diameter at the widest point.

Dale, Not sure how to describe the flavor. It is not a full on berry flavor, more somewhere between berry and honey.

How productive is this tree for you, Jon?

The descriptions of Laroda plums have always made me interested in this particular variety.

Should note that reports consistently say that the tree gives tart and otherwise unsatisfactory fruit when young.

Hi Jon.  I understand that probably you're the guy who introduced and named the Emerald Strawberry fig.  Do you mean for it to be spelled "Emarald" or "Emerald"?  If you meant with two e's, maybe consider editing the title of the thread?

A minor point and I don't mean to come off as nitpicky, (but that would help out those who use search to find threads about Emerald Strawberry).

I found them to be easily rooted and vigorous growers.  All three rooted together and all three left the greenhouse together.  Can't wait to see what they do as they get older.
