No!
Looks like somebody inserted some fig-pulp on the skin.

They are papier mache. I think those are poorly executed splits.

Either have I.

I attached a larger photo below for inspection.

To me, it looks like the fruit is split open with a knife.
Not sure if this effect is achieved post harvest,
or initiated slightly before harvest.
Effect is visually appealing.

In the larger image,
it looks photo shopped,
but I think that is because of color saturation,
could be wrong.

Pictures were taken in China I believe,
at a fruit market.

OK they are plastic then. Check out those shiny bananas and perky peach leaves

HungryJack thanks for  taking the time to show the pictures regardless. ; )
If you have program called Paint you can see what i mean that that split and even perhaps the figs are not real, just right click the picture save to computer and open with 'paint program' the top right fig is good example when you look at them.

That's a type of candy... Not a real fig.

?......  Marzipan candy?

Looks like Bass has the answer.

When I first viewed these photos I was using a small laptop,
so visibility was difficult.
Looking at the photos on my good monitor,
I see they are not real.

So I sent the photo to an associate in China.

His response
MARZIPAN
He was familiar with these candy figs
and the other marzipan fruits in the picture,
but, but,but,
he did say this is done with real figs as well.
He has seen the same look on real figs,
he did not know how its done,
but he mentioned he has only seen it on green figs.

I think this would have to be done pre harvest,
going to try it this year.

Good guess Bronx Fig !!

You posted while I was typing my response.

There Marzipan my father is a baker and use to make these there made of almond paste very expensive and very sweet I personally like sweets but these are to sweet.

Lol. Looks gross.

Yeah, fake obviously. They remind me of something though....call it "Rated R"...

ohjustaguy, I thought the same thing.

There is a Spanish fig with a uhm name that resembles what we see to a degree- Peludeta. Sorry

I may be losing my naivete, but I think this may be a visualization of a pun common in Italian for the use of the word "fico" to refer to female genitalia. That or mind is really in the gutter.

So in this situation,
could we consider that Pulp-Fiction ?  ;-)  :-)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I just saw this post!  First thought I had was marzipan.  I didn't have a second thought till I kept reading the other responses - guy!!!!  REALLY!!!!!

Tonysac - Father a baker!!  Me too!!  Well, more of a pastry chef than baker.  Oh how I miss New York / Long Island bakeries!!!!!!!   There is nothing better than going into your local bakery (or not local lol) to get a fresh baked (and make from scratch - not some frozen crap they thaw proof and bake) loaf of Italian bread, a few pieces of danish, a pound or 2 of cookies and some pastries - ahhhhhhhhhhhh  does the heart good ;)

Stepson is a pastry chef. Highly entertained watching a master craftsman in his element, expertly handling his material. Presentation is great, then you get to eat.

One can never know what to tell/expect from "things" from China.
And now, 'hmmm, all this ...' [if you know what I mean]!

I do love marzipan candy, specially the inside almond-stuff; but the outside pure-sugar-icing is too sweet for me.
