Fig Rust!!!! A lazy question!

In the South we have Fig Rust every year. I could search the net and this forum and get the answer easy enough

BUT

I want to know what you do and does it work. What products do you use and when do you apply them?

Thanks for indulging me!

Charles,  I stopped using anything for it.  I tried the copper/bordeaux sprays, but it did not seem to help.  Having said that...

My experience with the sprays was while growing in Houston (high humidity).  In central Texas it is a much dryer environment.  The leaves still get rust, but it is generally on the older leaves.  Most trees outpace the rust, and I just pull the rusty leaves off.  I do not know if the sprays would work better in this environment, but it seems like I would need to spray every couple of weeks over the growing season.

In high humidity, I wasn't able to stop it.

It definetely starts at the bottom and works up. I don't know how it is passed from leaf to leaf but that would be the key to stopping it I would think.

My reason for wanting to stop it is I have many fig fruit still maturing on the tree. Now they might not ever mature since we are going into Fall

BUT

I know they won't mature wih no leaves.
