Fig Rust or What?

I have noticed that on most of my 'trees' several of the lower leaves are yellowing and falling off...that's life. I am now seeing something that I think is rust but maybe not. I am posting because if this is not rust a) I do not know to expect and b) more leaves are spotting and yellowing, drying up, and falling off. Yes. The tips are green, healthy and growing strong but it seems if the rust/whatever-it-is is thinning out the lower leaves in a hurry. I water daily unless it rains and even then sometimes because the rain doesn't water the pots.

Any experience with this? Thoughts?

looks like rust to me

I am having the same problem on some of my trees. I have battled it all year. We have had lots of rain this year also. I had fungus in my yard and fruit trees, a really bad year. Things got better each time I pulled off infected leafs and sprayed the whole tree with sulfur fungi., but it seems to creap back in.

I am only having this happen with my Black Socorro right now.  I just expected that the lower leaves are "old" and are falling.

JD - my in ground Celeste has this issue as well. The little guys in the pot's do not (with the exception of that Wal-Mart Ischia). I figured it may be the heat in combination with the drought we've had this year, but maybe it is rest. I didn't notice this last year at all.
