Looks like a dormant site, but quite the collection:http://www.eastcoastfigs.com/orchlist.html
It is a nice collection of figs. The owner has moved, for employment reasons, and does not have much contact with the orchard anymore. There has been some work done on preserving/rescuing the varieties in this particular orchard. This is Figs 4 Fun Fig Link 097
Looking at the location, it maybe very close to me, do you know who owns it?
I see a road trip in my future.
That's Gene Hovey's place, but I'm pretty sure he either sold it or has someone caring for it. Gene introduced Kathleen's Black and had a wonderful collection. His site is very informative and a site I visited regularly and still do on occassion.
Very informative. Thank you!
I know that at least some of the trees in that orchard were removed. I don't know how many - if any are left. Gene does answer email occasionally.I bought all the trees he had at his house except the in ground ones. That web page is a good source of info.
