here is the first part of my experience of fig tasting. This one covers Beirut in Lebanonthe first 3 pictures are of a fig tree I found in the main tourist area close to the clock tower. I have to say, this is the best fig I have tasted so far. It was very sweet and the dried figs I found were great! Evidently, this fig was so good that no other fig has been able to match it. The only issue is that there were guards walking around with M-16 rifles. The next pictures are also close to the tourist area but these ones are near martyr square. This fig was medium sized and it had a good taste. I did not taste the most ripe ones as birds and other animals had taken care of the best ones. Funny thing, this tree is growing at the end of a parking lot. More to come...

I know exactly where these trees are. Thanks for sharing. I wish you had more time to visit northern lebanon for the biggest variety of figs. The first picture of a fig known as assily, the second one is probably hmari.
