Haha! Fig lovers have other hobbies also!
I just sold the truck.
Three days later I sold the '87 Kawasaki I was bobbing out.

Next project has to be one for the wife. She wants a 70s Bronco or old Land Cruiser.
Maybe some day....

Wait, what were we talking about again?

Figs?  ;-)

71GTO the pic you posted in post #21 is much more like the one I remember. I think the front end is identicle. Fast fast car!

If you're able to, hold onto your GTO. If you don't, you may look back with regret some day.

At one time, I had a 1970 Ford T-Bird with the 429 & suiicide doors. I ended up trading it off for something more practical :-[ . I've always wished I woulda been able to hang onto it until I had the $ to fix it up. Hopefully you'll get the opportunity to finish yours one day.

You guys talkin about these hot rods you have or have had, makes me want to look for a nice old fixer upper again. But nah. I'll be doing good if I get my 71 Honda Enduro 100cc running anytime soon. It goes pretty good as it is if you're going down a big enough hill :-] .

Way back when, I wanted a '64 GTO--I thought it was a gorgeous car.

We ended up with a '67 Olds 442 with a Hurst Shifter in it.  Beautiful car.  Curl your toes into the gas pedal and it took off.  I loved that car.

Since everyones talking about cars n' bikes.
Here's me on my lil' baby that i named "Black Vengeance" lol (just a 1978 XS400, so small bike but fits my 5'3" body well :) ).
Put another engine on and converted her to electronic ignition last summer. Lotsa reading the manual last summer. Done that, so moving onto mastering gardening :).

Jason that is a nice truck. Broncos are nice, my last truck was a 91 Bronco. I know it was not a classic, but the same function. I bought a soft top for the back and I can say nothing was better then the summer time with the top down. The truck was rusting out and it got to expensive to keep fixing it.
Saxon, That was a nice car. I guess at the time you get tired of it or you think you can just get another one no problem because they are all over the place. I can say though I don't see as old cars around as I used to and with collectors, Barrett Jackson auctions and everything else they are getting very pricey for any muscle car. I bought my car about 13 years ago. I drove it for a long time, I have been keeping it even when fiscal responsibility would have dictated I sell it. The house I bought I only bought because I wanted the garage for it, so at this point the car isn't going anywhere.

Arian; That's a good looking Yamahammer ya got there. All the bike a man needs really. With gas prices going like they are you may be inclined to drive it alot more this summer.

71GTO; Yeah the big blocks seem to get further out of reach with every passing year. Partucularly anything that had something special about it like High Output, Hemi, or the like.

The 429 in my old ford wasn't anything special but it was quite a hefty motor nonetheless. I damaged the radiator one day when I stomped on the gas. Didn't realize I had a broken motor mount. Found out real quick though :-} . Somehow the fan found it's way into the radiator - bummer.

If I ever dared to dream of having a hot rod car, I know just who I'd go to in my area. There's a fella I know who runs an auto repair shop has been a gearhead since the 50's. The guy is like a walking muscle car encyclopedia. He remembers everything too. Right down to the smallest detail of even some very obscure stuff. Wish I had a brain like that. He's in the process of finishing his own little dream car. Can recall which year but it's a Nova. Early 70 somethin'.

What was this thread about again ;) ?

Here was our Pride & Joy

They made a poem about this Truck, OK I made a poem about this truck!

It went like this
"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust if it wasn't for this truck the left lane would rust"..HEHE
