IMHO, comparing the leaves of The Godfather fig and of those of Sal's Corleone, I don't see any similarity. The leaves on the Godfather fig are more lobed whereas Sal's Corleone are not. This is a good thing in a way because it means that there is still hope that the GF fig is a unique variety of its own and not another synonym for an already popular red fig from Palermo, i.e., Sal's Corleone, Aldo's Palermo Red, Black Weeping, Black Triana, etc., etc.
