Fig Tree - living bridges

Wow. Thanks for posting that.

Thank you Grasa

It's scary and beautiful at the same time. Reminds me of some old asian horor movies.

HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!

Very cool.

This is cool, but Ficus anything is not Ficus carica.  That fig grows in the rain forest but does not bear the fruit we all love.  I doubt the Carica roots would make a bridge!  Still a cool video!  There are a lot of Ficus varieties, but they don't all bear fruit.  I do think you could bend a Ficus Carica tree into a fence or a chair, but doubtful a bridge... well maybe, if you plan to live 500 years.

Grasa,
Thank you for making my day. That is one of the coolest videos ever posted and it made me smile for an entire cup of coffee.

"Sustainable Living Architecture."

How cool is that?

Thank you Grasa.  I just sent that link out to a Lot of folks.

What I found the most amazing is  the interest of the people to work harmoniously with nature. Last Spring I visited some huge red woods in California, and one giant, who served as a road and later was paved so 'turists' drive through is no longer the beauty it stood for. the river is washing away the dirt beneath... and it is aproaching the hill where the tree eventually will fall.  it is secured by huge cables.   If such a ficus root was there to stop the river, perhaps the red wood would be saved.  It is definately a beauty on its own being. I watched it several times.
