Fig trees for 25 cents = Fig trees for 2s. (two shillings) each.
More expensive than most other trees; e.g., Quince trees sold for 1s. 6d. (one shilling and six pence) each.

I think I will place a order with this Guy, most of those varieties are no longer in commerce. Interesting to see what apples, peaches etc... survived since then. There was such diversity when many seedlings were grown out. How many folks grow out apples from seed today, back theen it was common. Lots of treasures lost because they never were one of the few that gained attention. Lots mediocre ones I imagine as well that were just acceptable

I wish he mentioned what varieties we had back then. Probably Brown Turkey

Yeah at those olde times, figs did not have many fancy names;
but at least they should have specified if it was a light or dark fig...
