Well, I just found out the hard way that fig trees and hail don't mix. We were down in Peoria IL about 2 1/2 hours south of us when the Storm came through. The neighbors said we had about 1in hail. Alot of my figs were knocked off the trees, some broken branches, alot of leaves where striped off the trees. It was probably better that I didn't see it happen.

It is a tough situation.  I had a big one roll through with hail about as big around as a quarter.  I still have leaves that look like they went through a blender.  I ran out immedaitely after to assess the damage, and heart dropped.  No broken branches for me, but knocked the vast majority of my figs off, and shredded lots of leaves.
