Winter is nearly coming to an end in Adelaide. Probably 1 more month and we will be in spring. So far 2014 fig hunting season is the best among last couple of years. Due to generosity of some excellent individuals I able to collect varities like Black Tuscan, Melenzana,Green Ischia, Dessert King, Flanders, Mavra Sika, Tena, Yeallow Ischia and Alma. Some of these varieties I thought impossible to collect inside Australia. It shows if you are persistent and have passion for fig , you can get anything.
Some of the new collection also consists cuttings from Rare Fruit Society. Some of this varities are unknown to others i guess, like. Giant tripple trunk, Harold Jo( thanks Peter), Lemon Lennie, Red conandria .
Still along way to go before i can stop fig hunting. Specially when the entire Col de damme series and rimada series out there. Also holy grail of fig Black Madeira( I had one cutting that rooted, then died on me).
Here are some pictures and thanks for looking.
