Figlet updates

Nothing terribly exciting, just some updated figlet pics.
Some of them are angry at me for messing with their humidity. I have a handful I am not sure will come back or not, time will tell. Lessons learned as I go along. Other than those bumps in the road everyone seems to have forgiven me and are doing well. I have a few DK figlets who are hanging out in normal humidity levels without shaking their little figgy fists at me. I'm gonna baby everyone else a while longer.

These guys seem to be coming along nicely. Lots of leaves and I've been pulling off lots of brebas. Tomorrow I plan on potting a few of them up.

And somewhat on-yet-off topic, my pups... eating the dried fig leaves that fall to the floor. They also gnaw on any fig cuttings I snip off and discard. At least nothing goes to waste.

Makes me think of the baked kale chips. Crunchy.

Looks absolutely beautiful. Great job. Your right time will tell

Jennifer

Nicole,
The figlets look absolutely gorgeous, great job! Your dogs are adorable.

Hi Nichole, it loooks like the ones that are in sand need some dilute fertilizer. Unless the problem is too much fert or salt. It looks like magnesium deficiency to me but hard to tell.

Wow...all that "GREEN" makes my eyes want to pop out...beautiful pics, and great looking little fig trees...all the best this growing season.

Baby figs are so cute.  Congratulations!

I was just pondering when their first feeding should be, and with what. The ones with sand suffered the most with humidity problems (the ones with sand were my 'first round' of rooted figs) and I think I goofed by not giving them enough water.

Nichole are some of those in Roor Riot  cubes    if  so  how do you like using those ?

Yes I have a few of those trays going. technically these ones are called rapid rooter - but it's the same difference. Same thing, different brand.

I've had good luck with them so far. I find it a lot easier to mess with than the moss. Less mold and take up less room.

Nicole, my cuttings are at the same point as yours are you keeping the top open on yours or closed? My box seems to be very humid I noticed a couple of the small leaves are falling off maybe too much humidity.

Nichele, I am delighted over your figs and picturetaking! Great job!

Nichole...when you pull the cubes out of the root riot tray, then what is your next step?...do you put them into cups, or are they developed enough to go right into 1gal. pots?....I have just started 2 root riot trays, so I'm looking for your advice...Thanks

i am going to try some root riot cubes next week. i think i think the temps will be consistant enough buy then

I keep the lid on but I do air them out every day, 10-60 minutes depending on how busy (forgetful) I am. When I take off the lid I spray them down with water and pour a cup or two of water into the tray, as needed. They dry out unevenly so I have to make sure there aren't stray ones any drying out on me.

Tomorrow I am going to plant some up. I'm going to put them into cups. If I see any roots peaking through I am going to put them in a cup. Not going to put them into 1 gallon containers yet.  My cuttings are tiny.. 1-3 nodes per cutting. This is my first round with them so we'll see if I change my mind as I go along. Learning as I go.

nicole, beautiful pictures as always :) my puppies are forbidden from entering my study and they are rather good at staying away.. only if i can tell them not to dig for worms in the yard..

worms in the yard are perfect for rolling in ;)

Potted up some from the rooting pods to the clear cups. Then I ran out of soil. My potting adventure will continue on Wednesday.

My veggies have done nicely, too. This none will give me squash some day.

They look real good - plus I love your setup with the shelves.  Now I have to make room for something like that and about a dozen other things I want to do.....

those look amazing. do you start off from baggie to them or just go straight to those things? the roots look great :)
