Figo Preto after die back (graft)

I'd thought it was lost to the gnats, but look what I found today!

After dunking them, I put them inside of these Amazon's grocery plastic bags and tie at the top creating a fat air chamber for them to recover... I am happy. Thanks to Stevin!!!

Not all is lost as slowly they are coming back...
(not sure I should let itself heal from the die back, or if I should prune the dead tissue- input needed)

GOOD LUCK !

AUSTIN

Great, congrats!

Congrats, looks like it is coming back nicely! Its always a nice treat when a suspected loss turns around.

Grass, I don't think I would trim it because if you cut into green wood by mistake then you'll be opening up an area that could lead to infection. You know what they say, "Don't fix it if it's not broken".

Damn those gnats. Glad to see it making a recovery.

Tony that was my feeling also, I want to hear what the experts here do... ( thinking that experts don't have gnats in their lives)

I think everybody has had those !&$? gnats at one time. I still got them but not as bad as earlier in the winter. They seem to be in a semi state of control. I better not type to loudly they might hear and go on the war path again. They attacked a rooted cutting given to me and I almost lost it but it's finally making a good recovery. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Keep your Preto in isolation from those gnats until it's growing good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!
