Looks good, almost like RdB, different of course.

was thinkking that same.. then noticed the leaf shape. lovely figs, francisco.

Nice figs:)
are you get different taste between breba or main crop of this fig Fransisco ? Are those main crop?
Thanks for sharing....

This is a great looking fig.

Nice!

Great fig/photos as always, Francisco.

If the book idea seems like too much of a task, alternatives could be a web page dedicated to the Portuguese figs you're photographing.  At a minimum, at least one forum post with links to each thread you've started so we can easily find these threads you've started.

More phenomenal pics of another phenomenal variety!

I'm with Harvey , a book or a web page or a sticky with all your varieties to find them easily and enjoy.

A search on username Lampo and all topics started would get you what you need here.  But a book would be great, too.  Beautiful figs!

Great looking fig Francisco. I agree with Harvey a book or website would be a great idea.

Lovely pictures Francisco

Beautiful example of the darkside of figs.

Thank you all for looking and commenting this post.
Also your suggestions and recommendations on how to move into a web page, book, whatever..
I need to get the 'critical mass' (?) updated and improved before I start anything in that direction..There are far more cultivars than what was shown so far as per recent findings and discussions, as well as the coming arrival of very old varieties being saved from extintion in the last couple of years.

Asep, this is main crop. Occasional brebas in May/June but very few and no big deal.

For a second, I thought I would get to see a Cavaliere (Michael Tucson, where you at with this figs?).

Francisco do you caprifie all your figs? I noticed that on caprified kadota the flavor is much richer and the pulp is bright red

Francisco: Thank you for the tasty figs.

Best,
Tam

Thank you all for your comments

Shah8, Cavaliere is a bigger fruit..the pulp texture/colors not much different but the skin seems to be of a dark brownish color.

The Celt- No, as a rule I let all my figs in peace and mother Nature cares for them.
there are Caprifigs everywhere in my area and most carry colonies of insects. So when the right time comes up in June you cannot stop the insect to pollinate the majority of the nearby figs.. it's pure FIGLAND !
As you say some Kadota (Pingo de Mel) if pollinated show a drastic change...for better, in my taste

------------------------

By the way I would like to post in this thread a picture showing two figs I must make sure they are pollinated, thus interfering into Nature's job, but the system has apparently blocked any additional pictures from lampo !?
may be I am posting an excessive number of pictures.

Francisco

Fransisco try to post them in same thread below me if under 1 megabyte they should post.
I never had that problem .

Thank you Martin.

It all started yesterday without any apparent reason. Before posting I always shrink the byte volumes to 30 to 60 kilobyt per pic...never abuse up to the Mega sizes.

I will try now as you suggested, if you see it OK, otherwise no luck

NO, it did not work..

Thanks anyway.

Francisco

NOTE: when thumb on the ( Attach files), it turns red and stuck.

Thanks for the replys Fransisco.

Hmm .

Can you try uploading your photos to a web site then use the picture icon (5th from right) to paste the URL?

Francisco,
As always, thanks for sharing your figs and photographs of figs. In terms of taste, I know it is difficult to compare but is this fig below average, average, or above average relative to the scores of figs you have shared with us.

Thank you Martin , Bob,  suggesting how to cope with the attachment difficulties.
will try  and work out something later today..

JD, This small fig, I would say it is, in terms of taste, average+,... but well under the Smyrna's, Quarteira, Cotio Verdeal, Bebera Branca, plus all figs where Aurora interferes ... which are, for me , top quality figs.
A friend and neighbor called me today to say that he had picked this morning one Bebera Branca weighing  195 gramms !!! which for a Common fig could well be a record.

Francisco hi
Getting windy here but getting lot of green growth at least. Still your pictures makes this summer longer.
Thanks

I am back to show the two figs I must make sure they will be pollinated next Spring! and this because they will both be a 'FIRST' to me.

I am so anxious to see just a couple of their figs ripe that although I let Nature do their job, I will back it with some action.

Very generous people provided the sticks (one from Italy the other from the Balears) to
root up into these two young trees.
Notice one has developped much ..much faster !
