First of all nobody gave me anything, I bought all cuttings for a price people ask. So now it is my property and I can eat it without butter.
And you and few other keep your business to yourself, everybody have right to make a $$ for any reason they believe suits them.
Some members here trying to sell cuttings in hundreds and then crying publicly that it did not happened.

True, you purchased some cuttings from me and they are yours to do with what you wish. However, the expectation is that you grow them yourself.

I'm sorry if that was not explained to you.

If you have extras feel free to trade them or whatever. I myself will have to sell cuttings or plants soon if i don't want to find myself living in the greenhouse. It is not an inexpensive hobby. Again, however, they will be plants that I grew, from cuttings that I bought or traded for. I try to keep accurate records of where they came from to give credit to those who provided the cuttings (out of respect).

At the very least, keep the name that the cuttings were given. Mine is U. Yellow Greek AD.

Do whatever you want. We all know that you are only here to make a quick buck and will be gone soon but just know that you will never get another one of my cuttings again, nor will I purchase anything from you.

I came late to this party. I just want to say that it is a little sad that Jon has to change his business model, but we have all received great benefit from him and benefits will continue. At least we are not lamenting the unavailability of the varieties, just how and how much we pay.

Nothing about Jon's changes will prevent any of us from trading or offering for sale on Jon's forum.  Be happy. Also, by selling more on E-Bay, Jon might be promoting more membership here, and that could inure to  our benefit as well.

Here's my opinion, for what it's worth: once you sell (or trade) something and it leaves your hands, you've made the exchange and that's that. Free market. But it's up to both parties to uphold the integrity transaction, no misrepresentations.

Something completely different is the spirit of this forum, which is one in which people make those exchanges because they're interested in growing figs. I've asked one person who didn't advertise to see if he could sell me some cuttings. It's just not in my nature to solicit anything without an indication of the item being available, but he said yes, at any rate - seemingly because he knows I have an interest in growing that particular fig. I've also bought from other members who did advertise. I'm interested in growing the figs they advertised as well as using the forum as an educational tool. By far and away, I've learned more than I've bought on this forum and I don't think those two sides will ever match one another. I will learn more here than I buy.

On the flip side of the buyer/seller agreement, a generous member read one of my posts asking for more information and sent a PM about a trade. He's going out of his way on a long trip to stop at my house with his end of the bargain. That's a person who's passionate about figs and this community.

I also believe that once you build up a currency of distrust among a community, you'll back yourself out of it naturally. No matter what, everyone should do what they think is best in terms of buying and selling, but as for this forum itself, maybe it's best to think of it as a meeting house as opposed to an auction house? That way, everyone can be heard, but maybe they'll speak their peace in such a way that respects everyone else?

I think I just rambled. I didn't mean this as shot at anyone in particular. But I like this forum, so I felt like saying it.

I like this forum and with large groups of people gathering Things will always be talked out. This forum to me is for friends. Growing tips and trading. I will never sell here even though i have been offered. I always say. Trade with me with anything you have even if i have it already. You never know what you might ended up with.
