Figs 4 Fun website update

Try "refresh". It is there. Just re-checked it.

Also fixed link for Saint Rita gallery.

Tried a regular refresh on each frame with no luck. So I did a hard refresh (shift+click refresh icon) and no dice.

I will dump my entire cache with CCleaner in the morn and check again.

This is the only thing I don't like about websites that implement frames ;)

Dumped like Jon metioned , refreshed each page and still fig name not showing on left pane .
rebooted and same thing.

Funny i open Mozilla browser and its there, i go back to Aol and open and its not retried everything out of curiosity and same results.

Hey im not complaining dont get me wrong .
These machines never cease to amaze me , i dont know didily squat about them.
But to think our national defense system depends on them at least in part  maybe ?
Back to figs

Jon over 800 and more in future im sure - thats a lot a lot of fig plants !
Sounds like you need a farm and perhaps more hands in the yers to come as they grow .  ; )

Jason,

Not a big fan of frames, either, but could not find another way to have a workable index. Did a lot of hunting to find the current solution, after being told it could not be done. Always open to something better.

New pix added for Greer RM, Improved Celeste, Italian Honey, Malta Black, Native de Argentile, Nero, Osborn 4, Panevino Dark, Peter's Honey FN, Portland Rose, Pratt's Purple, Qila Saif, Quantico, Raja North, South No.1 and South No.2, Sicilian Fico Rosso, Strawberry Jelly, Susser Georg, Verte

Ok, so here's the deal.

I ran CCleaner to kill every cache on my system.

I found that I now see Maryland Berry.  However, if I go to Malta Purple Red and click the images, I get this page:

http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Malta_Purple_Red.html

Which has nothing new added for 2010.

If I go to GM-1, and visit this page:

http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_GM-1.html

I also see no new pictures for 2010.

For what it's worth, I also noticed that the thumbnail image for the following figs if broken:

MALTA TYPE 1
MELANZANA MERDOSCOLA
MOUISSOUNE

Jason,

All fixed. A couple typos, and a couple older files mistakenly uploaded. Mouissoune was a complete screw up. It is supposed to be Mrs. Williams, from the New Zealand site, and all I can figure is that I deleted something in the process of pasting in some data.

Just one more thing - was looking at http://figs4fun.com/Var_I_info.html#ITALIANPURPLEBEEFERA

and noticed the images link is dead.

Fixed.

OT, but I think "Beefera" is a phonetic misnomer (should be: Bifara)

And you misspelled "Purple" on the pictures page for that fig ;)

It may be a misnomer, but it shows up in several places. I don't argue with the names, just report them. OK, I wrote purple 100 times on the black board.

New pix today: Black Mission NL and FU, Brown Turkey "a2"  "27 s7" and HD, KAC-11-30E, Malcolm's Giant, Marseilles VS, Mission Q and S7, Raspberry Latte, Reverse, Santa Cruz dark, Santa Margherita, Violette Bordeaux, White King "2-27"

Ball's in your court. ;-)))

A few observations, and I hope you don't think I'm pickin' atcha.  Don't hate me ;)

  • All of the RAJA figs appear to be missing out of the R index frame.
  • Same appears to be true for the SABA fig on S frame.
  • Same appears to be true for Qila Saif, and 404 on thumbnail image, and 404 on MORE IMAGES link.
  • Oakura shows above the "HOME" link in the O frame index.
  • Olympian is missing from the O index (I should add that new fig to my wish list!)
  • On the N index, Negra D'Agde is mispelled, and it shows up twice in the anchor area, separated by Negra, one has pics one doesn't.
  • New Jelly Strawberry missing from N index.
  • Nero Barnisotte is missing from N index.
  • Maize is missing from M index (cool leaf on that one!)
  • Maltese Falcon is missing from M index.
  • Lyndhurst White has a 404 on the its thumbnail image.
  • Kerikeri Dwarf has a 404 on its thumbnail image.
  • Jim has a 404 on its thumbnail image.
  • Italian White is missing from the I index.
  • Herne Bay has 404 on thumbnail image.
  • Grise St Jean missing from G index.
  • Fico Genovese missing from F index.
  • Fico Gentile missing from F index.
  • Egyptian brown has 404 on thumbnail picture.
  • Enchanted has a "More photos" link for Enchanted Red mistakenly put above its thumbnail.
  • Eseli is missing from E index.
  • Adriana is missing its name on the description area (it has a #### instead).
  • The end of the A index is screwed up; things are jumbled together and the links for the three AZN figs are incorrect ("target=" at end of anchor hyperlink)
  • Black is duplicated twice in description frame.
  • Black Genoa is out of order in description frame. if it matters.
  • Brooklyn Dark has a 404 on its thumbnail image.
  • Carinese is missing its name in the description pane (it's listed as name "DESCRIPTION").

Man, Raspberry Latte has a huge freaking eye!!

Jason, still love you, and appreciate the time it took to check them all out. I will work on them.

New pix for Cuban, Dalmatie, Encanto, Genoa, Hardy Black, Malcolm's Giant, Encantada, Peter's Honey FN, the Rajas, Raspberry Latte, Reverse 3-14, Rouge de Bordeaux, Sicilian White CA, Smith, Strawberry 04A, Strawberry 04B, Violette de Bordeaux, Vista, Vista Blue, WShite Triana, White OC, Willow, White Texas Everbearing

That should be all the 2010 pix. Now on to 2010 USDA/UC Davis pix and finishing the 2008 and 2009 pix. and maybe some new links.

Jason, I think I have them all fixed. The Raja index was OK on my end. All the rest I found issues for.

Yes, the Maize leaf is "cool" That was why it won "Leaf of the Year" in 2010.

Jon, the AdrinA have been observed by H2 as Texas White Everbearing.

Please note that the MORE PHOTOS link for GM-17 actually points to the thumbnails page for GM-11.

It seems there may not be a thumbnail page for GM-17, even though I am interested in seeing pics of the fruit.

Jason,  I fix it. As a diagnostic apporach, if the thumbnail is a leaf, there are not any fruit pix, yet.

New pix from 2008, 2009, or 2010 added: Col de Dame, Conadria, Cucumber, Dalmatie, Danny's Delite, Dauphine, Double Header, Deanna, Desert King, Diredo, Dark Partuguese, Sultane, d'Or, Drap d'Or, Encanto Brown Turkey, Nazarti, Encanto Red, Excel, and Ficus Afghanistanica

Fixed GM-17 (there are no pix), Fixed gallery for Capri Roeding No 3, and a couple other small issues.

The 2010 pics for Encanto Red are pretty wonky.  Note that there's no separation between 2008 and 2010.

New pix added for 2008, 2009, or 2010:

Abandoned Orchard, Barnisotte, Brown Turkey PM, Col de Dame, Conadria, Cucumber, Dalmatie, Danny's Delite, Dauphine, Double Header, Deanna, Desert King, Diredo, Dark Portuguese, d'Or, Drap d'Or, Encanto Brown Turkey. Encanto Red, Excel, Ficus afghanistan, Falls Gold, Fico Preto, Fico Santo, Flanders, Florea,  Galbun, Ginoso, GM-3, GM-10, GM-11, Green Italian, Hardy Chicago, Ischia White, Italian Golden Hone, Johanes, Jurupa, KAc-11-30E, Kadota, Kadota 1, LSU Golden Celeste, Nazarfti, Selection KAC-11-7w, Sultane, Ta Cenc

Any speculation on what GM-3 could be?

Looks like a tasty fig .....

Also wonder if Sultane is actually Violette Soleis.... looks like same fig.  Curious about taste.

My speculation is that GM-3 is good eating.

Do not think that Sultane is the same as Violette Soleis, or Violette Dauphine, or anything else that I have fruited.

Added pix for B Mad 001, 002, 003, 004, 006 and 007; Kennedy, Khurtmani, King, Large Negroone, Lebanese, Lemon, Lisa, Long Yellow, LSU Purple, Lyndhurst White, Madeleine des Deux, Marabout, Marseilles VS, Martins Italian Unknown, Mary lane Seedless.

Fixed a couple indexes and other issues.

Jon, there's a couple things I noticed.

this link is broken http://figs4fun.com/Thumbnail_Madeleine_des_Deux_Saisons.html
no link for Martin's unknown

Fixed MDDS. Martin's Unknown has not additional info or pix. There were two "unknowns": Martin's Italian Unknown and Martin's Unknown. MIU was originally erroneously called MU by me. I had not realized that there were actually 2 diff "unknowns".
