I'm guessing Ronde De Bordeaux or Panevino Dark.  I don't know anything about leaves, but just taking a wild guess.  Are you asking or do you know and this is a guessing game?  Doesn't really look like Michelle Obama to me though.  I just saw her on Iron Chef.  What a great garden she has.

Nope thats not Monrovia's stake i seen a truck load of missions right of the truck and that stake is to wide. They may have had the gardener stake that tree as i see part of a  hose attached to trunk behind it as well.
Its not a ronde de bordeaux either.

It's not a Vasilika Sika either....maybe a LSU Gold,pretty sure is a white fig...

I think this event is worthy of a press conference!!!  They could have given the stats about the tree, history of the sap lineage, the origins of it's ancestry, notable figs from history.  Was it a gift from a notable politician or head of state?

 Look what it could do for figs - being raised in the public's consciousness - figs are REAL fruit!  They don't grow dried ready to be stuffed into a newton.  

The Obama's could do for figs what Ronald Reagan did for jelly beans!

I doubt very much if it's any variety that could not be found in any common, garden center...so, no gormet-type figs.  The gardeners probably picked up that tree when they went to go get another fresh load of manure.

My guess:  "Brown Turkey"...or..."Celeste".  One produces large delicious-looking fruit, tastes like crap... and, always disappoints.  The other produces plenty of promising fruit, but drops them at the last minute.  Both should be swapped for a better variety.

I agree with post #16.  I wouldn't "buy" anything she's selling.  Nice K-Mart outfit.

That is an Italian Honey in my opinion based on leaves shape.
In this case I am not sure like in other situation when I, id a Celeste,but ,Italian Honey is my opinion,this time.

If you you copy and paste it into your browser it works.  The video shows more detail on the tree.  It has pretty large unripe fruit so I'm guessing it's not a Celeste.
