Figs Australia

My first post.  I'm new to fig collecting most of my plants are still small.
I was wondering if anyone who lives in Australia is interested in swapping cuttings at some point - when my plants are a bit larger or I can purchase either rooted or cuttings.

If anyone takes the bait you both better be very careful as spending time in the pokey is not out of the question.

The folks down under do not screw around at all and any smuggling no matter how innocent  is met with a serious and some might say brutal result.

Don't do it.

Welcome to the forum.

My closest friend moved to Australia and he looked into this for me and the end result was simple; Australia has had too many uninvited friends that have effected the economy and the farmer's ability to succeed. The government takes a very aggressive tact and follows it up with serious criminal charges.

Hi mgginva,

Thanks for the Welcome...

Not sure what you mean by takes the bait... if you read the post it says very clearly "anyone who lives in Australia is interested in swapping cuttings "  In not sure why my post relates to smuggling of any kind.

I'm guessing some people are engaging in this activating on this forum, hence the statement?

Agree Australia has very heavy penitentials to smuggling.
