Figs for the tropical beach

Hi, growers of figs

Thanks to all people in this forum to let every one to join and to share.

I am going to cultivate figs on the beach in the tropics; expect your advice on varieties that can be grown as a shade.

Figs will be planted on ground here: http://goo.gl/maps/4l3vr

Best wishes.

Hello Ary, welcome to the forum. I don't recall any other forum members in the area of the Christmas Islands. Maybe someone  in other tropical
climates can give you some good ideas.

Welcome!  We do have a few members from Indonesia.  If you want to hire me as a consultant, fly me to Spain to pick up your plants then to your place to plant them I'd be happy to do so  ;)

Welcome Ary ! Looks like you have a lot of room to get a good start !! best  of luck and keep us posted

There are reports of several varieties growing in Trinidad and Tobago.

Thank you for the welcome. I will share any progress in this forum.

Btw, how to search members from Indonesia in this forum?

Bob C, I'll fly you to Indonesia after I get the flying carpet.

Ary,  Here's a couple of Fig Forum members that appear to be from Indonesia (based on some of their postings).  I'm sure there are more but you can start by contacting them and they may be able to help you out-

Or you can go to the top of the forum page and select "Search" and type in "Indonesia" and browse/scroll through the subjects and look for the word "Indonesia" in bold...  that's what I did and quickly found the above two members.

Good luck!

There's also this FB page.  These guys may be able to help you as well.

Zaitun is a member from Indonesia as well.
