Figs from my yard

This year I am finally getting to try some of my newer fig varieties. I am also posting pictures of my unknown Bellclair to get input on what it might be. There is also a fig I got labeled as Black Ischia but I'm thinking it is most likely a Violette De Bordeaux. My White Greek from Jon does not match the pictures from the varieties page. Enjoy the pictures.

Nice looking trees. I especially like the leaves on the Unknown Belleclaire.

OK, I don't know exactly WTH happened... but when I saw the pic of your Sultane, I got shivers all up and down my spine! I'm adding this as the 1st on my wish list. Whoop! TY for the awesome pics and the Figasiam! LOL

James, those are some beautiful pictures of some great looking figs. I wish my season would have been as successful. By the way the trees I got from you are all doing well.

Looks like you have had a great season James.

goss

Nice pics. I especially like ones where they're growing like clusters of grapes. Two thumbs up!

James Hi
nice setup and trees.
i saw various members put their pots on soil or even 3-5 inches deep to the soil..

i am experiencing slow growth i think due to heating pots..
you think this might help -getting some soil and  layering it 5 inches deep beneath the pots?
are u moving the pots when the plants go dormant?

it seems a good choice to prevent root pruning every three years maybe? since the roots grow outside the pot and are ripped every time the tree goes to dormancy...

i think there are few different White Greek going around. mine is originally from jon and was given to me by very generous forum member. mine look just like the one of jon's database. i mean.. name itself can lead to some confusion.. White Greek can be any light fig from greece. x)

Looks great. I like your fig tunnel/shelter.

The Panachee looks great.  I like the idea of growing them in the ground in a protected greenhouse environment.  I looks like they still get enough sun and are happy there.

I'm curious, why are your figs in the tunnel/shelter? Is it to keep them out of the rain while ripening figs?

@ Gene- Sorry to hear your fig season has not been very good. Last year that was my experience. The rats and fig beetles cleaned me out pretty good. Perhaps I could send you something to make you feel better this fall. :-)
@ Eli I am in San Diego so I don't have to do the North West fig shuffle. I just have the pots sitting on the surface of the ground I have never bothered to burry them at all. I do have some tall pots and some short stocky pots so that may be what you are looking at.
@ Calvin- The shade tunnel is for keeping my trees from burning in the sun. My yard has no shade and I was loosing all the new growth during hot spells. I actually have three shade structures build to shade my figs. I will try to post more yard pictures soon. Thanks for all of the feedback and questions.

Oh my those look wonderful. Unfortunatly the weather has my figs going late. I think I'm going to put my potted figs in the greenhouse to see if it helps hasten things

Abundance. Those pics make me want to reach through the screen. Nice lathe-house idea.

Those are some beautiful figs!

How old is your Panache?

Very nice Photos. Thank You for posting.

The panache fig is from Home Depot but I have been caring for it for the last three years. The figs are very good if they get enough heat and if the beetles leave them alone. This year the beetles are more of the figs than I did.

Thank you for sharing James. I love all the varieties you have and love seeing how many fugs you get from 1 tree. Gives me hope I can get more next year.

i love your panachee... It's look amazing !
