Symfigs ,pls tell me which part of Turkey you get these seeds ,or is it from Turkey?

Hi Ercan: Its a tree near my home in Fullerton, CA. I started the cuttings on 1/3 and by that night there were roots growing. It was amazing to see. My husband discovered the tree. I have not seen the figs & the tree is small because they keep chopping it down. Like most figs, people see it as a weed.

I really don't good at identifying fig trees from abroad. If it is Turkish fig I can understand from leaves pattern but sorry for not helping.Maybe some experienced growers here will help you to identify its variety

Yes, that makes sense.

Maybe when you get fruit from it, it will be easier to ID.
I have one that looks like it, but it IS a weed -a seedling from one of my fig trees that the birds started. It's so pretty with the wavy leaves I hate to pull it up but the strawberry pot it's in is going to get very small, very fast. I guess I could try to graft it, but then would lose the pretty leaves.

Yes, Mara, that is definately the best way. Its a dormant tree now so it will be a little while but it is a FAST grower! We'll see. Your seedling sounds like its getting big. And yes, the leaves are so pretty. These Turkey fig leaves look very similar.

Hi Ercan, to which zone  type 208 is hardy and how many crops it has?

Yes it is hardy and can be grown in cold climates. It has one main crop .no breba.

Hi Ercan, I just joined your forum on figs....my favourite fruit! I will be visiting Istanbul in July as my cruise starts there. I would love to bring lots of cuttings back to Malaysia with me (I really love growing them) but was informed by my tour guide that the customs won't allow me through with the cuttings.
Is that true, please? Any help here would be greatly appreciated!
Kind regards, Mee 2

Just coming back from Istanbul where some majestic figs are simply growing in the streets or simply hanging over fences from gardens.

I couldn't resist to bring some cuttings home which also show the first roots in sphagnum. Let's see what I got there :-)

Figera, your trip sounds beautiful. Share pictures of your fig cuttings when you can. Thanks!
