Hello everyone just some picks  of figs  I picked this morning from the tree I saved from NJ. I went back and spoke to some older neighbors and they said the owners of the tree said they smuggled it over from Italy many years ago of course the tree and owners were no longer there because the house had burned down

Im not sure LJ but when  I posted it a few years ago for ID Herman said Well ,I had both cultivars discussed here:Fico Gentille and Desert King.
They are very close and similar,and also breba figs.
If that fig came from Italy,I am sure they called it Fico Gentille,yet if it had west coast origine it was aquired as Desert King.
It is one of the 2, no doubt
H2 and finding out it was brought from Italy I would assume its Fico Gentille but I am no expert.

That looks like one of my Grandfathers trees that he brought from Italy. He calls his an Italian Honey Fig because it has a honey flavor. I made an air-layer last year off of his tree for myself, so i will have one similar to ours.

You got yourself a Fico Gentille,in my opinion,but if you want someone that got Fico Gentille at this moment,and if your tree is a Breba tree ,then ask Dr. Leon ,on this Forum.
