figs in 5b- I am guilty

Will unprotected figs survive in 5b hardiness zone?
I could not take care of fig trees this past winter and I left them unprotected in my raised garden, I left them to die. Yes, it was cruel and unfair but age was taking its toll and I say finally I have to give up on my fig trees.
I do not know was I blessed and/or punished but figs did survive on its own without my help. Although. I am 5b zone but maybe this past winter was not 5b at all.
One of them was Bifara and another one was Paradiso (bronze one) the real Paradiso:-)  , not green. Oh, yes Brown Turkey did have just black garbage bag over branches and was at another location 25 KM away and survived too.
Please, do not listen to me and do NOT leave your figs unprotected like I did but that's what's happened to my figs.
Figs age was about 3-4 yrs old.

Amazing.  Fig treess are tough little buggers....

Wait and see, if the top is dead it could come back from the Suckers.  Herman has a tree that is in a warmer climate I believe 6 b, uncovered and it is producing brebas Marsielles Black VS.

You can scratch the bark and if you see green under neath then it is still alive.

They started leafing out and there are some new figs.
