Des Arc is a city in and the county seat of the northern district of Prairie County, Arkansas, United States.

Hi,I would like to know what you grow for inground trees and if you need to protect them,Rex

Right now I only have 3 kinds in ground; Chicago Hardy, Texas Everbearing, and one that I think is a Brown Turkey. They are 2 year old trees, so I protected them this year. But the TE and BT were cuttings from big local trees, both of which thrive unprotected. There is also a large Alma (I think) near me that no one does anything with and it never dies back.

Also, keep in mind that Des Arc is probably warmer than were I am. We are just into the foothills and zone 7, whereas Des Arc is flatland and I would guess, zone 8.
