I found this picture of a neighborhood of old Damascus and had to share it. Figs growing wild and sprouting in the cracks of the walls. Similar scenes of figs growing in crack of walls is found throughout the Mediterranean region.

Beautiful picture. But it's painful to look at, considering.

Amazing how these trees grow in such minimalstic conditions- kind of like some sucullents.

beautiful picture. i'm sure the environmental condition is just right for those figs. if i keep my trees that close to each other, they will all get fungal attack by the late summer with high humidity and all.
